Breaking Poverty Cycles
The cycle of poverty is generational. When a child is born into a poor family there are limited or no resources to create opportunities to advance themselves, leaving them stuck. Lack of resources makes these families vulnerable to being taken advantage of, resulting in freedom being exchanged for survival.
Modern slavery feeds on the cycle of poverty whilst perpetuating it at the same time.

How do we break this cycle?

This requires outside ethical intervention.
Any other form of intervention only continues this cycle in another form.
New Rivers actively pursues opportunities to break or interrupt the poverty cycle for a family.
We are developing projects on the ground in various industries in order to short circuit not only the cycle of poverty, but also slavery.
