Let us introduce you to some of our team on the ground.
Angela
Angela is our New Rivers Pakistan Director who passionately serves God in her nation.
Angela leads our team in Pakistan. Each week Angela continues to meet with various stakeholders and works on developing investment projects/opportunities.
Her network of relationships runs wide and deep across Pakistan and Australia.
When not working for New Rivers Pakistan, Angela is found serving children and their families through the organisation she founded, The Miracle Schools Trust. Angela started teaching children who work at the brick factories since she was 17 years old. She now teaches her 2,000 students across 35 brick factories. Most days you will find her in Brick Factories throughout Greater Lahore.
Babar
Babar and his family live in the Sialkot district of the Punjab State.
When Babar was a young boy he realised Pakistan was wasting more than half of the talent by not educating girls. He soon began to help his sisters to continue their education from home. In 2013 he commenced adult literacy classes for women in his village, and it has now continued in the surrounding villages. This assists women in their education and employment.
Babar has deep connections within this locality and has developed many projects to assist in its development. For instance, he was instrumental in supporting the building of a church in his village. Growing up there was no actual church building in his village but through various labour intensive exploits, Babar helped contribute significantly.The construction of the church building commenced in 2007.
There are a number of other projects that Babar has had involvement in, including the drilling of wells, installing a water filtration plant and supporting pastoral internships.
As an employee of New Rivers Pakistan, Babar works on our projects in the Sialkot district. Currently he oversees the running of a Recycle & Building Supply Centre.
Babar is passionate about sustainability and developing ways to improve the environment but his first love is spreading the Gospel and delighting in obedience to God.
